Currently, we are seeking a dedicated SHEQ Officer to join our dynamic Health and Safety team.

The Role

Assist the Senior SHEQ Officer and wider SHEQ Department in the preparation, promulgation, reviews, and ongoing maintenance of the companies ISO 14001, ISO 9001, and ISO 45001 management system. Including the organisational arrangements for carrying out the policies.

Participate in the investigation of incidents, accidents and near misses, audit, conduct and review contractor risk assessments. Monitor the implementation of safe work procedures, maintain and update all relevant SHEQ Department administrative duties.

Essential qualification & skills

· An awareness of cost control

· Strong understanding of health and safety and a working knowledge in the law and the ability to understand regulations

· Experience in a similar role

· Hold a valid driving licence

· Flexible approach to the role

· Ability to negotiate

· Ability to work alone, reporting back to management when required

· Be able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing, with different groups of people

· Ability to analyse and understand complex information and present it simply and accurately

· Strong planning and organisational skills

· Able to interact with people at all levels within, or external, to the company

· Able to manage own time and prioritise workloads

· Good IT skills – proficient in the use of Word, Excel, and Outlook

Desirable skills

· Scaffold inspection – CISRS card holder, basic or advanced

· Environmental knowledge

· ISO auditing qualifications

· First aid

· IPAF training

· PASMA training

Additional Information

· A Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check will be conducted at the company's expense.

· Salary range: £35,000 per annum.

· Working hours: Monday to Friday, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with a one-hour break for lunch.

· Annual leave entitlement of 21 days, in addition to bank holidays.

· Applicants must be eligible to work in the UK.

· Tracked company vehicle & fuel card will be provided for business use.

· Initial six month probationary period.
