Cheers to 80 Years – Staff Away Day

AD Construction Group celebrated its remarkable 80 year journey with an unforgettable anniversary away day marking a significant milestone in its long history.

With 150 enthusiastic staff members in attendance, the event was a testament to the company's enduring spirit of friendship and achievement and was also a clear visual reminder of the growth we have witnessed, as demand for our services increases year on year and our partnerships and portfolio of work continues to expand.

The highlight of the day for many may have actually been breakfast [!] – but officially it was the engaging ‘Bridge Building Challenge’ activity (with thanks to team EML), where fifteen teams of 8-11 employees each - collaborated, showcasing their planning abilities, concept delivery, teamwork, innovation, problem-solving skills and most importantly sense of humour (there were some very entertaining team introduction presentations and creative team names!) With extra points awarded for delivering under budget - the competition was fierce, but friendly.

The event was the subject of many debates and discussions during the evening and clearly an emotive activity with strategies still be discussed and ‘could’ve - would’ve -should’ve’ regrets and performance critics still dominating some conversations - long after the winners had already been awarded their medals and prize.

The event was further enriched by an interactive speech delivered by renowned speaker JJ Lynch, author of the book ‘How to Win - in life, business, and everything else’.  JJ captivated the audience with his insightful reflections on the importance of thinking differently in our ever-evolving, fast moving industry (nee world) “the jobs our children will do - most likely haven’t even been invented yet.”

His interactive approach left a lasting impression; motivating everyone to embrace/lead change, innovation and creativity in their work and mindset. To ‘hold hands’ which is now a ’you had to be there’ joke - will forever inspire us all to ‘think differently’ about all the things we do and how / why we do them.

Throughout the day staff were also invited to take part in the ‘Vortex Challenge’ where they could win numerous prizes including, vouchers and days off! As the day unfolded, employees relished in the opportunity to unwind and connect with colleagues, reflecting on the day's activities and sharing stories of past successes and what the future could hold. The relaxed atmosphere fostered meaningful conversations and strengthened already firm bonds.

Middle Temple Celebrations

Earlier in the month AD also hosted a celebration event for clients, colleagues, friends and contract partners, both decades long standing and more recent; at Middle Temple, a historic London landmark renowned for its architectural splendour and rich heritage. It was a poignant moment for AD Construction Group as we reminisced about our past involvement with the preservation of the ‘inns of court’ buildings within the 11 acre estate. Having worked on Middle Temple in the 80s/90s undertaking significant renovations in the grand hall, and more recently refurbishing society members' accommodation, the company’s connection to this prestigious venue added a profound sense of pride and nostalgia to the festivities.

Overall, the 80 year anniversary celebrations were a resounding success, encapsulating the company's rich legacy of excellence, teamwork, commitment and innovation. It served as a fitting tribute to AD Construction Group's past achievements, while inspiring confidence in the bright future that lies ahead. All the events thoroughly cemented our core values, both towards each other and in all that we do.
