About Dementia UK
Dementia UK is the dementia specialist nurse charity. The charity’s Admiral Nurses provide life-changing care for families affected by all forms of dementia.
Today, dementia is the leading cause of death in the UK. As of 2025, more than one million people in the UK were living with this condition.
There’s no cure for dementia. But there is care. Dementia UK’s Admiral Nurses are continually supported and developed by the charity to provide life-changing support for families affected by all forms of dementia. Their Nurses work in hospitals, GP practices and local community services to provide clinical, emotional and practical support that enables people to live more positively with dementia.
If you are affected by dementia and need information or advice, you can call Dementia UK’s Helpline on 0800 888 6678 for support from dementia specialist Admiral Nurses. The Helpline is open from 9am to 9pm Monday to Friday and 9am to 5pm at weekends (excluding 25th December).
